When I started this project I had to brainstorm, am I going to go for a more country style or sleek and modern? I decided that I was going to do a little bit of both. Using modern yet country-like music, and big, long texts was perfect for the style I was going for.
I started off by importing the video clips into Adobe Premiere, then I added music. I was looking for adventurous music that’s not exactly country – maybe a little lofi on there too. I had many songs that I would have loved to use, but copyright is a major problem.
Next, I started cutting up the film. I would cut when a certain, repetitive part of the song happened. For example, if there is a much harder hit on the drums, I would cut to the next video clip on the beat.
If I could change anything about this video, I would use more popular songs instead of royalty-free songs. I would also use a different font. The one I used in this video is fine, but I wish it had more of a worn texture to it.
